Sixsentix Serbia won a prize for its selection process: candidates can instantly feel our culture and atmosphere

Our PC&D team from Serbia reveals some interesting details about its award-winning hiring process

March 27, 2023

Infostud, the leading portal for jobs and human resources in Serbia, collected the evaluations of candidates about the selection and recruitment processes at the employers where they applied for open job positions in their “Evaluate the road to work 2022” survey. The candidates rated the companies from 1 to 5 in terms of how the company scheduled the interview, the quality of the information about the position, the speed of the selection process, and the feedback on the interview outcome. In this year's survey, Sixsentix Serbia received the highest average score from 22,339 candidates and was awarded third place out of 7,783 employers.

In an interview with Infostud, Maja Davidov, a member of Sixsentix’s People & Culture team, explained how they earn the candidates’ trust, what makes the Sixsentix selection process different, and what this award means to the PC&D team, but also the whole company.

“We are very happy that candidates recognized how much we value the selection process. From their first encounter with our company, we think it is vital to give our potential colleagues a chance to feel the atmosphere and convey our culture to them. We would like to use this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the survey, thus giving us feedback that our team’s dedicated work pays off,” she said.

She added that it is exactly because they pay special attention to the feedback from candidates and clients, as well as former and current colleagues, that they can identify areas for improvement.

“We revise our selection process at least once a year in order to improve it based on our impressions and feedback from the market.”

Four-day training as part of the selection process for the Junior Test Consultant position

Asked to briefly describe the recruitment and selection process in Sixsentix, Maja Davidov replied:

“Most of our colleagues in junior and back-office positions were selected from the Infostud portal applications. We usually hire more experienced colleagues through recommendations and direct recruitment. The selection process for the Junior Test Consultant, our most advertised position on this portal, consists of three steps, and the second step is what makes it unique – 4-day training in our company’s offices. As for other positions, the process consists of two steps: the initial interview and personality test with the People & Culture team and a technical interview with the team the candidate will potentially work with. A short, sweet, and successful selection process.”

Maja explained that the duration of the selection process depends on seniority.

“For the Junior Test Consultant position, it lasts for about a month, given that we organize a 4-day training for a large number of groups. On the other hand, the process for testing positions that demand more experience is shorter, and the selection is completed within two weeks. When it comes to back-office positions, due to the generally high number of applications, the selection lasts for a month after the application deadline. Nevertheless, we try to select our new colleagues as soon as possible.”

She further explained that the initial interview is scheduled via phone call.

“We prefer this method of communication despite a large number of candidates, so they can ask all the questions they find important, and we can explain our selection process. After the call, we set a meeting in the calendar with all the necessary information. Finally, we provide feedback to all the candidates. If we do not have a response right away, we ask them for just a bit of patience. It is very important for us to stay in touch with the candidates for potential future collaboration,” she adds.

We are very happy that candidates recognized how much we value the selection process. We would like to use this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the survey, thus giving us feedback that our team’s dedicated work pays off.

It is crucial that the candidate fits our culture

“We are looking for people who suit our company values best. We believe that it is good to hire a person who is a culture-fit and shows potential, even if they do not have enough technical knowledge at that point. A person who possesses all six of our values and whose mindset suits the Agile way of work is normally considered to be a person who would fit our culture and has a great chance of being chosen in the selection process.

We invite all potential new colleagues to stay up to date with the news at Sixsentix through our website and social media, where we announce our open positions. If they apply for an ad that matches their skills and interests, our goal is to meet them and share experiences, thoughts, and opportunities for collaboration. It is also crucial that they feel free to ask questions and provide suggestions, so we can improve the selection process and avoid possible misunderstandings,” Maja concluded.
